Our Earl Grey is a quintessentially English brew, perfect for those seeking an elegant, sophisticated cuppa. Soothing yet uplifting, it is one of our customers' highest-rated teas. To create this distinctive blend, our Tea Masters balance teas from East Africa and India. We use a high proportion of quality Kenyan leaves to give the brew its lively, brisk flavour. This is complemented with a touch of exotic citrus from our exclusive bergamot flavouring. The larger leaves used in our loose leaf Earl Grey result in a more refined flavour, perfect for the discerning tea-lover. The tea in each caddy or packet is foil-wrapped for freshness, ensuring you the perfect cuppa every time. Our Earl Grey’s bold yet elegant flavours are easy to appreciate throughout the day. Simply add a slice of lemon for a fragrant, aromatic infusion, or enjoy with a splash of milk. Earl Grey tea was named in honour of 19th Century British Prime Minister Charles Grey. It’s believed Grey received a gift of tea from China that was flavoured with bergamot oil. The distinctive blend became so popular that he asked British tea merchants to recreate it. It's been a firm favourite around the world ever since and we think our version makes a fine tribute.
Our Cardamom Tea is a uniquely flavoured, exotic brew that fans of our Earl Grey or Chai Spice will love. It is actually our best-selling tea worldwide. To make it, our Tea Masters create a black tea blend featuring lots of quality Kenyan leaves. This gives the brew its crisp but mature character – a perfect backdrop for the uniquely herbal, slightly menthol green cardamom. We use a special cardamom flavour that complements the black teas with its warm aromatic spiciness. Cardamom is a popular spice across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. In India it’s used in savoury and sweet dishes – from rice biryanis to creamy desserts – while in Turkey and Lebanon it’s ground into coffee. The Scandinavians love it to flavour their baking, while recently, chefs in the UK have been experimenting with cardamom and chocolate. At Ahmad Tea, though, we still think it’s best in a brew, adding its exotic aroma to a nice cuppa… Our Cardamom Tea makes a versatile brew. Served lightly steeped it’s like a more exotic Earl Grey. Enjoy it like they do in the Middle East by serving it strong, black and with lots of sugar. Alternatively, drink it well brewed with a splash of milk as a rich, soothing cuppa, similar to a warming spiced chai tea.
Our Ceylon is a fine example of one of the world’s most popular teas. Perfectly balanced with a brisk and lively flavour, it makes a refreshing and energising cuppa any time of the day. Famed for its diverse growing areas, Sri Lanka’s climate is well suited to producing quality black teas. Our expert Tea Masters blend teas from different gardens to create this balanced loose leaf expression. We use ‘low-grown’ teas – harvested from sunny gardens below 600 metres (m) – to give the brew its colour and strength. Then we add ‘medium-grown’ teas from cooler gardens between 600 and 1,200m to give the blend its lighter, citrusier notes. The Great Taste Award judges loved it, awarding it one star and praising it for being "flavourful and pleasantly astringent". Our Loose Leaf Ceylon is a truly versatile brew. With its rich amber hue and fresh, zesty aromas, it suits the addition of a slice of lemon to bring out its zesty notes. Brewed richer, it also takes milk well, softening its briskness and emphasising its deeper flavours. Alternatively, enjoy the more refined and fragrant flavours of our loose leaf Ceylon as a premium iced tea. Dilute a strong infusion with lemon, sugar and ice water to make the ultimate hot weather pick-me-up.
Our Earl Grey is a sophisticated brew perfect for the discerning tea lover. Soothing yet uplifting, it is one of our customers' highest-rated teas. For this blend, our Tea Masters balance teas from East Africa and India. They use a high proportion of quality Kenyan leaves to give the brew its lively, brisk flavour. Our exclusive bergamot flavouring is then added to enhance the tea with its exotic citrus fragrance. So whether you drink yours lightly brewed in the morning, with a slice of lemon after lunch, or strong and milky in the afternoon, you get a freshly aromatic infusion in every cup. Earl Grey tea was named in honour of 19th Century British Prime Minister Charles Grey. We think our version makes a fine tribute, especially with Thomas Picken's "The New Houses of Parliament" painting on the box (not on the 50 Round Teabags box). Our Earl Grey is much-loved by our customers and has even won a Great Taste award. The judges praised the tea for its balance and singled it out as ‘a sound example of a strong Earl Grey.’
Our English Tea No.1 is a unique blend of elegant black teas with a subtle hint of bergamot. A delightfully balanced cuppa, it’s perfect for those seeking a more genteel approach to classic British tea. Our Tea Masters combine Ceylon, Kenyan and Assam teas to create this blend. They use a high proportion of Ceylon from Sri Lanka’s hilly central tea gardens, where the finest and most delicate teas come from. This gives the blend its brisk, lively quality, which we enhance with a touch of our signature bergamot flavouring. Distinctive yet delicately fragrant, our English Tea No. 1 makes a delightfully uplifting brew. Serve with a splash of milk or enjoy with lemon to bring out the tea’s citrusy notes. Decorative tea caddies arrived not long after tea was first introduced to Europe. They were a way for the wealthy to store, protect and show off their expensive new import. Our pretty all-metal English Tea No.1 caddy is illustrated with William Lionel Wyllie’s colourful 'Opening of Tower Bridge'. A scene that celebrates British excellence seems appropriate for this blend. It’s ideal for storing your blend in a little luxury and being part of the long-established British ceremony of making the perfect cup of tea.
Enjoyed for centuries since the Tang Dynasty, Gunpowder Green Tea is one of China’s most popular exports. The finest green tea leaves are tightly rolled into little pearls and wood-fired, taking on a subtle smokiness in the process. Our Gunpowder tea pops with the sweetness of fresh summer grass and the aromas of smouldering oak. It’s a refreshing blend that every green tea lover should try. This style of tea gets its name from the shot-like appearance of the rolled tea leaves. It is renowned for its full-bodied flavour and is stronger than many green teas. ‘Gunpowder’ became a popular tea processing method as rolling the pellets locks in the flavour and aromas, releasing them again once they’re steeped in hot water. The tea also proved robust when being transported, in comparison to other whole leaf teas. This made distribution across the continents easier, with traders safe in the knowledge that their tea would arrive with all its quality preserved. The tea is now enjoyed all over the world. In North Africa it’s served ceremoniously with lashings of sugar and fresh mint. Elsewhere it’s popular as a brisk, refreshing cuppa brewed with just hot water. To create this fine infusion, our Tea Masters source the youngest, largest leaves from the Zhejiang province of China - it’s only these high-quality leaves that can withstand the ‘gunpowder’ process of withering, steaming, rolling, and then drying. All of the flavour in this blend comes from the high-quality leaves and the drying process – we don’t need to add anything else. The final infusion has a deliciously smoky green tea character, stronger than many, but still subtle when compared to black teas. It offers green tea sippers a deliciously satisfying brewing experience.
